Summer birthday party 2008(April -June)
I returned to the big family, Andy World club, once again this year, and it was my first time to join the birthday party for members, so as the day got closer, I got more and more nervous.
Thinking back several years ago when I was a member, there was no birthday party for members. I really thank Andy World Club for gaining such a good “benefit” for us. I also thank Andy for sparing his precious time for celebrating birthday for members.
As you know, the past birthday parties were held at Andy World Club head office, but because the head office was under repairing, the party venue was specially moved to Andy’s alma mater, Ho Lap collage. I really thank the school principal for lending us the hall.
In every seasonal party, the birthday boys and girls are not only local members but also many overseas members. This birthday party was held on the next day of the 20th anniversary celebration, members from many parts of the world could attend this birthday party after attending the anniversary party, so the participants were much more than the last birthday party. Two new members, – Andox and Hak Jai, has just became VIP member officially at the anniversary party the day before. They were just in time to join this birthday party. So when the curtain rises, they appeared accompanying Andy and birthday cake.
Birthday party started with the birthday song chorus by approximately 900 people. Andox and Hak Jai are usually jumping around and can they be just audience? So, after the birthday song chorus, it was the performance by Andox and Hak Jai, what they sang was neither Andy’s old song nor new song but it was their own song. They hope the song can be recorded in Andy’s new album.
And then it was member’s game and karaoke time. The four games are：compete for speed of drinking a whole bottle of water with a long straw, compete for numbers of table tennis balls to shoot in a limited time, compete for height of stacking up aluminum soda pop cans, throw dice and compete for the higher score, they all look easy but they are not. As to the member contestants on the karaoke contest were all having outstanding ability, it was obvious that they usually practice so hard. Constant efforts can remove stage fright.
Happy time always passes faster, without notice, happy one hour is over, then it is the photo taking time that member have most looked forward to. After the professional stage lighting equipment was set up by staff, Andox and Hak Jai took photo first, more than 900 birthday boys and girls under the stage were orderly and waited quietly for the arrangement to go up to the stage to have their photo taken, the event ended around 5 pm, before leaving the venue, members could receive an elegant birthday card and a small towel cake.
Lastly of course I need to thank all the staff. They arrived at the venue so early to prepare for the birthday party just after the busy day of anniversary party. Thank you for your hard work!
