Andy’s Birthday Party was held in Hall 5-E of Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre this year. Sinicism was the theme of the Birthday Party. Besides the stage setting, we, as a member, were also invited to dress in traditional Chinese costumes to join the Party. Before the start of it, all of us were very concentrated on practicing to form a huge puzzle hoping to send Andy a warm and full of blessings birthday gift.
The program came up with an ingenious plan and fascinating performances that included the melodious notes of Plaisir Ensemble, martial arts of Sichuan member, clapping dance by Shenzhen members, drumming and folk dancing by AWC performing group. The most exciting part of the night must be “The Battle of Dance” between 14-year-old Taiwan member and 16-year-old Hong Kong member! Their masterly dancing skills in such a young age led the atmosphere to the highest. Apart from the mentioned performances, there were three videos showing how Andy has a great impact on three of our members on their careers and personal lives. Through the videos, they thanked for Andy’s encouragement and supports. The conscientious, diligent in works and pursuit perfect have made Andy to be the role model for all of us.
Talking about learning models, how can we leave out our Paralympics athletes of Hong Kong? To appreciate their efforts, Andy had particularly prepared some highlights from the London Paralympics to share with us. These allowed us to deeply realize that their endeavors in games are the proud of Hong Kong.
Mr Cyril Takayama, the world famous magician, was invited to be the performing guest of the Party. His magic was breathtaking! What’s more exciting was – Andy demonstrated his magic tricks, Amazing! “Bingo” was followed after the wonderful magic shows. When the last number was being shouted out, everyone in the Hall was BINGO! We were presented each a pair of socks with Andy’s autograph.
It was the show time for Andy singing《肉麻情歌》、《謝謝你的愛》、《情人Happy Birthday》. As the lyrics “Happy Birthday” appeared, we raised up the cardboards and formed “WE ANDY” as a birthday gift for him together with a large size birthday cake. When we were singing the birthday songs for him, his parents and guests were invited on stage to cut the cake and marked a wonderful moment.
Andy sang 《峰迴路轉》 in the grand finale of the Party. This song represents a significant meaning as it has accompanied most of us in our childhood.
Last but not the least, I would like to express my thankfulness to all staff and performers who have brought us an unforgettable night! We wish Andy a happy birthday and may all his wishes come true!
