Starting June, counting down the arrival of the 27th Anniversary always keeps me thinking about what will this year surprise be? Finally we come to the Big Day 6th June. On that day, after queuing up for the entrance ticket, we first received a golden badge and a star-shaped glow sticks in the venue. After settling down for a while, there suddenly came a little commotion because of the arrival of Andy’s parents. After they were seated, the lights suddenly became darker with the voice of Andy which kicked off the party. The curtain went down slowly and the first scene to our eyes was all the ‘10 years oldies’ and ‘20 year oldies’ and volunteers who waved their purple star-shaped glow sticks and sang ‘長途伴侶’ all together. After that, Andy let all those members leave the stage one by one. Huh?! It seems there was no master of the party because our handsome Andy took this role on his own. What a surprise!
In the beginning, Andy said it seemed like he didn’t have much public appearnace last year and he just went to different places for the ‘Dream Comes True’ Gathering which gave him different feelings in each country. The last stop was Korea, he continued: ‘During 80s & 90s, I was really popular but nowadays those popular Korean stars are no longer me. If I was few years younger, probably I could replace five Kim Soo-hyun and two Lee Min-ho.’ All the members already laughed and shouted: ‘You can replace already, you do not need to be a few years younger.’ Then, the performance started and leaded by the performance group with their hot dance and the song of ‘伴我啟航’ . Finally, it revealed this year theme where Andy leaded his family members to start off a journey in the ocean. Andy issued order to ‘Sail’, followed by the rising of AWC Flag on the stage. The scene was shockingly astonishing.
Time flies in the past 27 years, little girls probably become ones’ mother, and their children naturally become the second generation of Andy. This year, they performed Hip Hop dance. Unexpectedly, those four or five years old among them could already followed the beats and also remembered all the standing positions without any errors. They performed professionally with lots of applause in return. It is believed that the performance groups in HKAWC will have a lot of successors in the future.
Afterwards, Andy raised a question asking if we have heard a song on the internet named ‘給華仔的歌2015’. That is a song composed by Andy’s fan who linked the names of his popular songs up to form the lyrics whereas the MV is composed by the footages of Andy’s movies. Andy was touched after watching the MV and claimed that his vocal is similar to his, so he sang it himself and even recorded another version to us for comparison. He requested us to help him find the original lyricist and say thank you to him. Then, he introduced another new song named ‘真心說話’ which was composed by two Singapore members and given to him as a present in the ‘Dream Come True’ Member Gathering in Singapore last year. Andy thought the lyrics could really move his heart so he asked for the copyrights from them and changed some part of the lyrics. He would even put that in his coming album.
Then, Andy sang his first song on that night, and the melody of ‘心肝寶貝’ started to play and the screens started showing some daily pictures of Andy with his daughter and wife one by one which were so touching and made us all in tears. Looking at those warm pictures with their lovely smiles was so grateful and happy. I am sure this is what everyone of us expects the most. Our happiness were all shown and reflected on our face and eyes.
Anniversary Party is also the day that we can celebrate the birthday of Andy’s father all together. Champagne is necessary and every time when Andy’s father opens champagne, he looks so excited and happy. He does not look like the elderly. Then, the creative crew brought out the Anniversary cake and all the guests went on the stage and celebrate the 27th Anniversary Party together. Approaching to the Father’s Day, cake and flower could not be missed and Andy added ‘I am now a father as well’, which has to be celebrated too. Therefore, this is the time to let everyone to meet ‘HER’, WOW it was really unexpected that we could also see her in real person! After a while, Hanna had not come out yet. Probably it had not passed a minute but we already felt like waiting for so long. Andy went to the back stage to bring her out himself. She wass so cute and adorable; but maybe because of the crowd, she kept lying on his dad’s chest embarrassingly and looking at us. Andy’s wife, tood next to Andy with a smile. Looking at this warm and pretty picture, we really wanted to seize the moment! Keeping her from being scared, we could only let her go back. In the company of Andy and his wife, Hanna put her arms around the necks of her mum and dad when leaving to the backstage. What a pleasant little girl!
After all these surprise and heartfelt performances, it was a performance by a group of male members who sang and played guitars themselves. Apart from teaching them some singing skills, he also taught them how to put a charming and handsome pose. Lastly, it surely was the solo performance from Andy and he sang few songs such as ‘解開’, ‘天比高’, ‘開心的馬騮’, ‘伴我啟航’ and also ‘回家的路’ to end this impressive and touching 27th Anniversary party.
Last but not least, we sincerely thanks for all the helpers from front stage and back stage, and most importantly, our most handsome Big Brother, Andy Lau, who gave us a blest evening. See you all again at the birthday party in September.
