[Track]Act as a Couple with Deanie Ip

‘A Simple Life’ with numerous film awards and good public compliment, Director Ann Hui, Deanie Ip and Andy went to Guangzhou to promote the film. The film was based on a true story which impressed audience with tender sentiments and the performances of actors were marvellous. Deanie Ip won the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival and both Andy and she received the Beast Leading Actor and Actress in the Taiwan Golden Horse Award. To prepare for the role of “Tao Jie”, she went to the elderly home for observation. Andy tried to make his performance in film inconspicuous while Deanie praised about his, “This collaboration with Andy, his performance refreshed me. This character doesn’t display too much expression and we skipped the shooting against the sequence. I really have to raise my hat to him as he still looks so charming in such plain dressing.” In addition, Andy was very proud of Deanie’s performance as well, and he quipped that he and Deanie not only could be mother and son, but also lovers. Ann also felt that such combination was ‘highly possible’ and said if there was any suitable script she would like to collaborate with them again.
