We have waited so long for the Hong Kong Dream Comes True event! This time it was held in Ho Lap College, Andy’s old secondary school. Andy wore a white shirt with Ho Lap’s school badge on it. He said he will take us back to “Our Times”.
The first game was the classic “Joy Card” that was once played when announcing the most popular male artist award during a music award presentation. Andy invited AWC chairlady Maggie onto the stage, and asked MC Maggie explained the game instructions. Four members randomly chosen Computer were divided into two groups and guessed the “Joy Card” in turns. Winners were awarded with signed posters and “Lost and Love” novels, as well as a group photo with Andy.
After that, Andy taught us some magic tricks. Do you still remember the magic ring in the movie “All About Love”? Andy demonstrated the magic trick, and asked a male member to come up the stage and try. Member finally did the trick with Andy’s instructions after a few tries. Andy said that this trick can also be done with a ring and a necklace. Then he borrowed a members’ ring and necklace, and he really did the trick! Andy jokingly said that this trick can be used in proposals, and he gave away the magic ring to the male member on stage.
Then there was another magic trick. This trick was played with two rubber bands which were given to each member when entering the venue. Andy taught us the trick by crossing two rubber bands together, pulling left and right, and the bands separated. Andy also invited a member to go on stage and join him. The member did the trick with another method. We had no idea how to do the trick, and Andy patiently explained many times. However, at the end I still did not get the trick.
The Karaoke session came next. Andy gave out a handsome pose and said, “I ask Andy Lau to sing you the song!” Everyone was excited. Andy picked a total of six members, and they sang with Andy in pairs. They sang 「今天」,「暗裡著迷」, and「你是我的女人」. One of the members was super enthusiastic that she danced with Andy on stage. The hall was full of laughter and everyone was enjoying.
There were two lucky draws during the event. One was the surprise prizes which were attached to the bottom of our chairs. The other one was on-stage lucky draw, which the prizes were three cartons of 「解茶」drinks for each of three lucky members.
Then it came to the Q&A session. Andy patiently answered every member’s questions. Andy mentioned that he does not plan on doing concerts in 2016. One member said that she is hoping Andy to go to Canada for a member gathering. “It has been a really long time since I went to Canada. I am hoping to hold a small gathering in Canada,” Andy said. Some member questioned about the lack of on-screen schedules of “Saving Mr. Wu”. Andy said, “You have to go watch it even if its on-screen schedule is limtied!” This kind of events which allows members to interact with Andy is very relaxing and enjoyable.
Finally came Andy’s solo time. The first song was 「真心」written by a Singaporean member. After that was the Cantonese version namely「天光天黑」. The lyrics which were written by Andy are very moving and the melody of the song is very beautiful. Then he sang 「中國人」, 「無間道」, 「鴿子情緣」, and ended the event with「回家的路」. Everyone was satisfied and went home with a smile on their faces.
