This year is the 25th year since Andy World Club was established. Nostalgia was the theme of the Anniversary Party, lots of members specially dressed up in nostalgia costume to contend for the “Outstanding Nostalgia Costume Award”. Andy’s father also wore traditional Chinese clothing to compete with the members!
Twenty-five years, a quarter of a century, it isn’t a short period of time and memories weighted heavily among us. A pair of small brother and sister sitting in front of a TV opened the prelude of the Anniversary Party. With the fixing of the antenna because of snows on TV, the clock turned back to the year which Andy made his debut performance. The shy smile, the young and tender voice attracted our screams.
We seemed like spending another quarter with Andy and family members through the flashing pictures on the screen that night. Laughter in the past, smiles from hearts in the present; head over heels in the old days, crazy screams in the moment; proud of him on that day, next to none on that night; former sadness, present heart-wring tears. Andy World Club can be named as HOME because we have walked together for a long way and have not abandoned anyone after going through lots of issues. We are moved while seeing the prosperous 10-year Oldies and 20-year Seniors lineup on the stage.
The sharing of Christine Au Yang, one of the guest, and MC Astrid Chan about how Andy has influenced them through the years impressed me the most. And Andy deserved to get the “OX Spirit Award” from the Softhard due to his hard working and persistent at work.
Though the Party was filled with touching moments, the atmosphere reached to the highest when Andy sang a new re-mixed song as finale. We all sang and danced along with the music. At last, Andy sang an encore which ended the Party successfully.
