Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, and it’s time to celebrate with members who were born in July, August and September. Together with the Members’ Birthday Party, a charity auction was held on the same day too. Lots of members were milling around with well-groomed at the party, some of them even joined with young and old. It’s such a warm scene!
When the Party began, Andy, just like a Prince Charming, was in white shirt matched with grey checked pants and white sneakers pushing a birthday cake appear in front of us. Then, Andy led the whole family to make birthday wishes together, hoping all the best to us and our wishes come true.
This year, the Calligraphy Competition (Hong Kong group and Overseas group) and the Scholarship Award Ceremony were scheduled to hold in the Party. Participating members of the Calligraphy Competition show the best of their abilities to win over champion, runners-up and merit awards. For different categories of scholarship winners, they received certificates and encouragements from our “Big Brother”.
As also, Andy’s birthday fell in this month, the assembly deliberately arranged a thoughtful game for members to take part. Shown on the stage screen, “May joy, happiness, health and good luck surrounded you, Happy Birthday”, was a message of blessing. Members had to text the above message to Andy’s mobile as quick as possible to give him the most heartfelt birthday blessing.
After the game session, the party atmosphere pushed higher. Followed by the most wonderful moment – chatting with Andy, many members congratulated our Big Brother for the success of his invested film, “A Simple Life”, getting good results in the Venice Film Festival and looked forward to the official film release. At the same time, members with affection of love, suggested Andy to get more rest, eat more and take good care of his body. Andy promised them one by one and assured that he would well look after himself.
Here came the time which everybody was anticipating to – taking photos with Andy. We found that the number of members joining the Party had increased this year. Some were couples, some parents also brought along with their children to attend the gathering. Pictures full of warmth recorded every happy face of our family.
