[Track]Deanie Ip from ‘A Simple Life’ won ‘The Best Actress Award’ the Fifth time, and Andy won ‘My Favourite Actor Award’
‘The sixth Asian Film Awards’ was held in Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. Ms Deanie Ip was the victory again who won the ‘Asian Best Actress’ for her role in ‘A Simple Life’. The venue was full of thunderous applause as this was the fifth time that she won awards because of this film. When she received the prize on the stage, she expressed that she is thankful and honored. Apart from saying thanks to the organization, she also thanked Ms. Ann Hui and Mr. Andy Lau who gave her the chance of performance. She continued saying Andy does not only have a good appearance, he is also a talented actor. Then, she said that to Andy: ‘Thank you, my darling’. Andy also replied with a blow kiss. Afterwards, she expressed: ‘A good script is important for an actor’s performance. Thus, I really appreciate the director who has provided a really meaningful story.’ She also indicated that acting ‘Tao Jie’ was not difficult, as she was already an elderly. However, some people just wanted her to take the challenge to dress prettily, so she would like to thank the crew who made her look beautiful too. On the other hand, Andy won ‘My Favorite Actor’. When he was receiving the prize on stage, he said: ‘I am so happy receiving the award, but I am also afraid of losing the chance of receiving ‘The Best Actor’ award. Thank you all for the continuous support, I just rushed here from another ceremony and I am really lucky to receive this on my own. Hope that I could always receive awards.’ When Eugene Domingo who won ‘My favorite Actress’ came on the stage for the prize, she walked next to Andy and took out her mobile phone, said ‘I have been waiting for 25 years for the chance of taking picture with Andy.’ Then, she asked Andy if he could give her a kiss. Without any rejection, Andy kissed her forehead lightly which made her very happy. ‘I am so happy tonight! I hope that I can work with Andy one day.’ She finished with this. For film director Ms. Ann Hui, she achieved the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
