It had been over 1900 days (5 years) that the Malaysian family members had their dream finally came true to meet up with Andy on the 27th March. In order to express their love and respect to him, we prepared and sang a Malaysian folk song, called “Rasa Sayang”, i.e. “feeling of love”, which was accompanied by special created musical instruments. We sang twice and I truly believed that Andy could feel our love so deeply.
When it came to the photo session, the members were immediately so excited. Some combed their hair, some straightened their clothes and some were thinking what to say to Andy. Some of them took this opportunity to give him a present on stage. Although we were excited, we went up to the stage in order.
After Andy satisfied our wishes, spring roll wrapping game started. 4 players were drawn by the MC and 2 players in a team. Each team has to wrap 4 spring rolls and finished by decorating their plate. So, Andy started his demonstration by wrapping a roll, talking about the ingredients and decorating plate with lettuce and tomato. The winner would receive Andy’s unforgettable concert poster with his autograph on while the consolation prize was the unforgettable concert pen with a projector torch.
After the game, Andy chatted with the members about his recent situations. I believed that everybody enjoyed the chats so much because of their positive response, and all questions were answered. The topics covered included Andy’s movies, music, his tips to maintain health and beauty etc. Even a member who was just six years old also spoke eagerly. Apart from chatting, the members made suggestions and one of them requested Andy to sing 《His woman》in his concert. Immediately, he sang the song unaccompanied! Another member suggested Andy to record a song with chorus by the family members in his future album, to which Andy would consider.
At the last time slot, Andy sang《Eager to Love》,《I Hated I’m a love Maniac》,《Applause》and《Life-time Partner》. Both Andy and the members enjoyed the party and interaction. To practise the suggestion of singing in chorus, Andy chose 《Love you a Thousand Year》, which went very well and ended the Gathering.
The Gathering has provided an excellent opportunity for Andy, old and new members to spend beautiful moment together. Dreams had come true! I hope Andy will visit here again soon. The Malaysian family members will miss you so much!
