[Track]Andy is not confident enough to be the Movie God Father
Andy became the producer again of a Kung Fu comedy ‘Gallants’ after ‘Crazy Stone’. A press con was held in Beijing to for the media of Asia. Andy and Gordon Lam, Directors Derrick Kwok and Clement Cheng attended the event in Beijing. The movie will be released on 4th June in the mainland China and Hong Kong.
In these ten years, ‘Made in Hong Kong’, ‘Crazy Stone’ and ‘Gallants’ produced by Andy became a brand. As the introducer of the ‘Asian Rising Film Makers’ programme, Andy paid great effort on supporting new directors in recent years. Therefore, Andy was being admired by new directors as the ‘God Father’. When the mc called Andy as ‘God Father’, Andy said he is not confident enough to have this title. He claimed, ‘Call me Andy is better. It is my honor to facilitate the new director and I am happy to do so. Even Fruit Chan, Ning Hao, Derrick Kwok and Clement Cheng didn’t get my support, they will be discovered by others. Making film is a career that needs persistency.’ Andy stated that ‘Gallants’ is a touching movie. It is similar to the life of an artist, keep fighting in the ring.
