What Woman Wants , which gathers elements of magic, fashion and workplace into one love comedy, first collaboration betweenAndy Lauand Gong Li, will open in cinemas soon. The press conference was held atBeijingand the director Chen Da-ming and the cast which includes Andy, Gong Li, Yuan Li, Banny Chen and others attended. The film was adapted from aHollywoodcomedy with adding lots of Chinese elements and the characters became more localized.
The film is about Andy accidentally has the ability to “listen to women’s heart” after an incident. In the press conference, Andy taught the audience how to understand women’s heart: “Actually the film did tell everybody, which is honest with each other.” He revealed that he had waited for years to collaborate with GongLi and to him, Li is a special Eastern beauty who is men’s dream. He is a man that is able to hear women’s heart in the film, he found that interesting and the film also mentioned about the relationship among people.
It is the first love comedy of Gong Li, she excitedly said, “Despite it is the first time I act in love comedy, it is also the first time I work with Andy. I was quite nervous and exciting. I was a bit nervous when I met Andy because he is famous for his seriousness. He is an acting type of actor, he helped me a lot. It is happy to cooperate with director Chen and Andy.”
