After finishing the promotion of “A Simple Life” in the Mainland andHong Kong, Andy and Deanie Ip went their separate ways to promote the film. Deanie and Director Ann Hui attended the Hong Kong Film Festival inMalaysia; while Andy went toTaipeifor promoting the film and held the autograph session for his new book – My 30 Working Days: A Simple Life Shooting Diary.
When the news of Andy visitingTaiwanwas released, his fans rushed to purchase his new book and the publisher reprinted the second edition immediately. Originally, the quota of the autograph session was 300 but due to the great success of the pre-order, the quota increased to 500 at the scene. Wecan seethe attractiveness of Andy. He revealed in the interview that he always dreamed to be a director and was preparing the script. He said he wanted to learn screenwriting and directing when firstly joined the TV actor training class. With the encouragement of instructor, he eventually became an actor, but his director dream is still with him. He exclaimed that although he would like to direct his own movie a year ago, he accepted Ann Hui’s invitation to take part in “A Simple Life”. He also said that he had to work harder after seeing the pieces of director Doze Niu Chen-Zer and Jay Chou and the vigorous development of film industry inTaiwan.
