The long-awaited Hong Kong Dream Comes True Gathering was ready! Three of us arrived the venue with excitement. The Hall was arranged full with round-tables. After settling down for a moment, a spotlight from 4th floor flashed and members started shouting. It is found that Andy arrived the Gathering earlier than scheduled!
When Andy came down from the 4th floor, the Gathering began. Suddenly he walked towards the washroom with embarrassment and said quietly, “Just give me little time!” Everyone burst out with laughter and quipped, “Oh… Andy also needs to go to washroom!”
On the stage, Andy told us his grand-grand-grandfather’s birthday was on that day so that he purposely arranged the Poon Choi Feast for his celebration. After he said hello to every member, he sudden grabbed the notice board “No Photo-shooting & Video-recording” from the staff besides and strongly reminded us again to follow the regulations of AWC. With the guidance of staff, Andy visited each table and chatted with us. When it was our turn, my daughter passed him a bottle of green tea with a hand-made knitted ice lolly once he took a seat. Andy hung the ice lolly on his jacket and expressed, “It matched my clothes!” My daughter also sang a song “一家人” for him and he helped her beating time .Members of our table all sang together afterwards! We began to chat after singing and a member asked Andy where the inspiration came from in composing. He shared his own experiences in classical reading. Although it was only a few minutes of chatting, it was a happy and precious moment. Andy only stayed a few minutes with each table but it took him more than three hours to finish 50 tables. He must be exhausted.
At last, we have to thanks for Andy and all AWC staff for the thoughtful arrangement!
