The anticipated Andy’s Birthday Party was successfully held in KITEC on 14 September. As usual, there was a souvenir counter for members to purchase the latest AWC products. About 3 pm, there were many people lining up in front of the counter already. This year, “Photobooth Instant Printing” was particularly set up for members to take picture(s) together with Andy’s standee, families and friends. Capturing the best moments and recalling them when home!
The venue was decorated with Chinese ink painting as the party theme, which appeared more poetic during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Once the music stopped and lights dimmed, cheering and screaming filled up the hall, the moment we long awaited has come! The beautiful MC, Astrid Chan, invited the most famous and handsome male lead, Andy Lau, onto the stage. He, firstly, presented the awards to winners of Chinese Calligraphy Competition and members of outstanding academic results. Luckily, it was glad that I got another chance to receive the award and scholarship from Andy’s warm hands this year. This was a great encouragement for me. Thanks, Andy!
Then, scenes of fantastic performances followed. The first one was the Hong Kong famous sand painter, Mr Hoi Chiu, used his flexible hands turning those sand into a number of meaningful paintings. They showed the memorable moments Andy spent with us!
Next, AWC Performance Group presented their specially – prepared performances for the Party. Talented performers sent out the most sincere birthday greeting to Andy by performing martial arts, Chinese calligraphy, nunchakus, fluorescent sticks, paper-fans, drums and dancing. The superb performance of each group member was really amazing! It looked like AWC was a good place to nurture the future stars! What’s more, members from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China were invited to share the particular moments with Andy in their lives. After listening to their stories, Andy was full of tears and being touched ! Then, Astrid invited Andy’s parents and VIPs on stage to have cut-cake with him. Over a thousand of members sang birthday song for Andy making the scene an impressive and warm one.
After that, Astrid said Andy would like to offer us his “first time” and share his love story with us. We all were being curious about this. The “first time” only referred to showing off his sand painting skills for the first time. Ha ha! His painting was fabulous! That’s why Mr Chiu praised Andy was very talented! Together with the sand painting of Mr Chiu, Andy sang <月亮代表我的心>, <只知道此刻愛你>, <你說他是你想嫁的人>, <你是我的女人>, <長途伴侶> and <心肝寶貝> . Those paintings showed Andy’s love story and the times we grew up together that were romantic and touching! We were drunk in great joy with the wonderful music and touching scenes. Time flied with happy moments, towards the end of the Party, we kept shouting for encore. Andy sang <冰雨> and <仍唱我的歌> that stroke our heart after sharing his working plan in the coming year to end the Party.
The Party was held successfully depending on the efforts of the performers and staff of both front and backstage. Hereby, we thank each of you that brought us an unforgettable Birthday Party.
Last, but not least, I wish Andy happy birthday with good health, wishes come true with happy family, new album and films sell like hot cakes! We will always love and support you!
