Long anticipated by members, the Andy World Club 23rd anniversary “See You In My Dream XXIIIrd Pajama Party” was successfully held on the 11th of June. It may be considered as another chance for members to have a close contact with Andy, after the 2010 Unforgettable concert. In that evening, all members who entered the venue were wearing various kinds of pajamas. Even all the staff also wore matching black pajamas with white dots. I believe I can consider it broke the records for the “Most people wearing pajamas” at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Arriving at the venue in the evening, I was already attracted by a series of souvenirs. This year most of the souvenirs, such as Andox & Box pillowcase and slippers exactly matched the theme. In the meantime the organizer arranged a song called “Unforgettable Dance” which helped everybody become absorbed in the pajama party. Although the party had not officially started, we all danced so energetically, to warm up！
When the party started, Andy took the lead in the program, performing a medley of hit songs with hot dances. Of course adding to the fun performance by our Andy World Club Performing Arts Team was something which could not be missed, but this year was something certainly different. Actually this year the rehearsal place for the Performing Arts Team was provided by Andy’s old school and a heart-warming behind the scenes short film of rehearsal (by Andy and Performing Arts Team members) was shown. There were many mutual body contacts among them which filled us with enthusiasm and I thought because of this, more members may join the Performing Arts Team next year!
One of the best parts of the show in the evening was “Characteristic Pajama Design Contest” prize. The prize winners wore pajamas designed by themselves and showed their own works on stage. Each of the best five designs had its own attraction and received enthusiastic reactions from the audience! Andy’s father and mother were also very involved with this party and following Andy’s lead, wore pajamas and played the role of judges. 5 pairs of works were all good so it was hard for judges to choose one. In the end, the most humorous stage appearance and absolutely life like “Laih yih” (Ms.Laih), won and became a champion.
This year, there were more than 100 oldies, seniors and senior volunteers contributing to the club anniversary. They entered the venue as they sang and waved light glow sticks and after they were lined up neatly on the stage, they made the shape of “XXIII” with the light glow sticks. At that time I thought “I will try hard to succeed you in the future”. In the next performance, there was even a group of male members specially playing the part of Andy’s various classic models to add to the fun. Actually Andy World Club was already invaded by many boys and this again proved people’s unbeaten fascination with Andy! The last part of program was of course Andy’s performance time and actually Andy had to work and needing to fly to Beijing the next morning. Although he didn’t wish the party to end, he sang one more song called “Seventeen” which he dedicated to all of us at the last and I was extremely moved, by his performances. The atmosphere was very heartwarming.
In the evening, apart from the 23rd anniversary of the fan club, it was also Andy’s father’s birthday, so how can Andy World Club family members, not celebrate it? Andy took the lead and invited all the guests and family members to sing a birthday song together to dedicate to his father which made him so happy that he smiled from “ear to ear” This year the design of club anniversary cake was very special and the remarkable part was the champagne poured into a container in shape of AWC (which stands for Andy World Club), the light of numbers, “XXIII” on the cake, automatically came on and the effect was unforgettable to me.
Here I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to each of the Andy World Club staff for giving a sweet dream and making us smile, in the dream.
