[Track]Shaolin Promotion in Guangzhou
Shaolin will be shown in cinemas nationwide in MainlandChinafrom 19 January. Director Benny Chan and his main lead Andy went toGuangzhouto promote the film.
Andy expressed the highlight of the character as a warlord who changes from evil to good is the ‘humanity’. “The whole Shaolin preaches LOVE, the great one that towards life and people around.” He expressed his disappointment about the scenes showing off ‘humanity’ were snipped off. “Originally the film was three and a half hours long but it has been edited a lot, such as how the evil get along with his wife and daughter, the relationship between society and enemies. It’s quite pity that these were snipped off.” In addition, he revealed that a few scenes of showing the loving with Fan Bingbing were edited also, however, they were not the loving that all thought. “How would I have intimate scenes?”
Being a Buddhist for years, Andy said he had accumulated some enlightenment, especially about life. “A Buddhist makes me let go easier. When one doesn’t have so much resentment, find a stairs and then put it down. Don’t care too much and don’t compare everything. The most important is the attitude.”
Having been in the showbiz for 30 years, Andy is being addressed as “Hard-working model of showbiz”. When being asked if he felt tough through the years, he expressed he did not think the past 30 years were harsh for me, on the contrary, he felt simple.
Andy was quite modest while collaborating with Jackie Chan again after 20 years.
