[Track]The Kongest Film Awards
Apple Daily organized the first Kongest Film Awards this year. Andy Lau and Stephy Tang won the Kongest Actor and Actress respectively with high recognition. Andy’s wholehearted support to Hong Kong movie is always sincere. He stated that he is always ready to contribute to the Hong Kong movie industry.
Hosted by Apple Daily, the first Kongest Film Awards Presentation Ceremony has presented six awards. The experienced movie director Johnnie To and actress Sandra Ng were being invited as the award presenters. Andy Lau won the ‘Kongest Actor Award’ with ‘Shock Wave’, meanwhile, this movie also won the Kongest Film Award.
Andy showed his support to the first Kongest Fim Awards. He said, ‘I should attend more similar events to remind everyone that we are working hard for the Hong Kong movie industry. I believe the Hong Kong audience can also see the good performance of the Hong Kong-produced movies this year.’
Andy won the two awards with high recognition. Being asked if this made him more confident on getting the Best Actor Award in the Hong Kong Film Awards, Andy smiled and said, ‘The Kongest Film Awards were being voted by audiences while the Hong Kong Film Awards are being judged by the committee’. Replying if the second episode of Shock Wave is possible, Andy said, ‘Most of the major roles died. We can consider a different story in the same series. The bomb may not be an actual bomb. It can be an explosive mood.’
Andy has contributed a lot to the Hong Kong movie industry. His investment on movies and encouragement on the innovative industry have sponsored many young rising film makers in Asia. Andy said, ‘Investing on movies is becoming my habit. If someone comes to my office and I will confirm the investment once our discussion is close to a final stage. Although it really affects the income of our company, I can earn back from the actor fee.’ Andy is also considering to be a director. Sometimes, he also helps as a screenwriter.
