[Track]Andy’s Mainland China Concert Drew its curtain and Experienced Spectacular Views and Extreme Weathers
The final show ofAndy LauUnforgettable Concert World Tour 2011 drew its curtain in the Mainland Chinaon 31 Mayin Quanzhou. It was the largest concert in Quanzhou in recent years, the Quanzhou authorities had special arrangements to welcome the heavenly king and via various media to inform audiences who would go to the concerts and remind the public detoured to avoid traffic jam.
It was officially announced that the concert had started which the audience replied with loud applause, and Andy who was dressed in white appeared singing “Gu Xing Lei” in the midst of loud cheers. The nearly100 mgiant LED screen, which was almost the same size as the stage, surprised the audience with cheering and screaming. Some fans brought banners with writing of “Come for a hug”, “Love you 10,000 years” as they kept waving to catch Andy’s attention, he smiled at them to say thanks.
After singing a bunch of songs, Andy said ‘Gong Xi’ in Min Nan to send his greetings to theFujianfans. He thanks the fans for supporting him for so many years and hoped them to continue support him in the next 30 years. He said, “I still wantto seeyou in the coming next 30 years.” The audience responded with loud applause. When he sang for the fans who have long supported him in tears, audience clapped with the beats. Then he said, “This song is a must…” 30 thousands audience was so excited when the music started and together sang “Shi Jie Di Yi Deng” with Andy as a special song for Quanzhou public.
During encore, many fans rushed towards the stage to pass bouquets of flowers and presents to Andy via the crew members. Not wanting the concert to end, male and female fans kept screaming “Andy Lau, I Love You.” After finished singing the last song “I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye”, Andy said, “What is it… don’t wanna leave?” Then he sang a few lines of “My Heart Only Has You” without music to give a perfect end to the concert.
Besides tens thousands of people sang in chorus in Andy’s concert tour at the Mainland China and tears among Andy and fans, it also caused some spectacular views. Scalping tickets are a norm throughout the years, even some car parks in small communities increased the parking fee from RMB 2 per hour to RMB 80! Announcements have been made by various media and traffic broadcast to ‘note’ the public about this big entertainment issue. Companies which are located near the stadium particularly allowed employees to leave work early to avoid traffic congestion. That was an exception employees could off early besides the Chinese New Year. In addition, whenever Andy has concert tour in the Mainland China, full house was a common thing. For those who could not get a ticket would pack outside the venue, listening to the music singing and shouting to feel the atmosphere.
Except these, this time the extreme weather also took part in it. During the earlier two shows in Wuhan, the temperature reached the highest in history of May to36.1 ℃. Andy quipped, “Wuhan used the most hottest way to welcome me and lighted up the flame in my heart that can’t be stopped…” However, on the day of performance, the temperature dropped to the lowest14.7 ℃. Andy wore short sleeves the day before, but changed to down coat, wool hat and gloves to do the rehearsal. There was21℃difference in temperature. He said, “It seems God wants me to cool down, so it gave me the lowest temp to lower my great enthusiasm. The drizzle also stopped before the concert started that surprised him to thank the care from God. Love from God also appeared when the stage climbed to heights and he was ready to perform “Frozen Rain”, suddenly it started raining heavily that became the most natural special effect. And once the song ended, the rain stopped instantly. The audience exclaimed this special weather by cheering and clapping, even Andy felt flattered.
Finished the eleven shows of the Mainland China concert tour, Andy was moved by intimate stories in the backstage apart from the supports from fans for the past 30 years. After collaborating with young monks in the film Shaolin, Andy has built a close and strong relationship with them. Other than inviting him to perform in the 20 shows of concert in Hong Kong, the young monks also performed in the 11 concerts in the Mainland China. One of them gave Andy a present before the last show at Quanzhou. When he opened the present, he found that it was a limited edition of Yue Fei stamp album with a note written, “Andy, Yue Fei is the hero in our hometown and you are our hero, this as a present for you.” These words touched Andy.
